We enjoyed the long evenings and good weather in the beginning of July which enabled us to eat dinner on deck.
On the 6th of July we took the Eurostar from Paris to London to visit our friends Hilary and Pete for a week. It always amazes us
how many people these trains whisk to and fro between Paris and London. It was fully booked, left on time, and traveled non
stop into St. Pancras station.
The weather was glorious. We spent the majority of our days outside in the garden enjoying the summer weather. We were
invited to Sophie (Hil & Pete's daughter) and Adams new flat in Weybridge for dinner and had leisurely days walking along the
Thames and had lunch at a pub along the tow path. We visited the Courtauld Gallery with it's impressive collection, met friends
we hadn't seen for a number of years for coffee and a few good laughs and did a London Walk of the City of London. Before we
knew it we were on the Eurostar back to Paris.
The following day was Bastille Day and we had every intention of going in to the Tour Eiffel to watch the fireworks celebration.
It rained all day and by the time we had to make the effort to go in to see the fireworks we had lost interest and have put it off
until next year.
